The Blenkinsop Valley Community Association is committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all members of the community and invited guests to participate in council meetings. In order to achieve this goal, we ask that all participants adhere to the following guidelines:
Listen actively: All participants should listen respectfully to one another, allowing each person to express their thoughts and opinions.
Avoid interruptions: Please avoid interrupting others while they are speaking. Wait your turn to speak and let others have a chance to participate.
Avoid personal attacks: Discussions should be focused on the issue at hand, not on personal attacks or negative comments about individuals.
Stay on topic: Discussions should be relevant to the agenda items being discussed. If a topic is not relevant, it may be addressed at a later time.
Respect differences: The community council values diverse perspectives and encourages respectful dialogue even when there are differences of opinion.
Maintain a positive tone: All participants should strive to maintain a positive and respectful tone, avoiding language or behavior that is inflammatory or divisive.
By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure that community council meetings are productive, respectful, and inclusive for all participants.
